Maybe I Didn't Want to know

A friend of mine had this ADD/ADHD test on his blog. I have always wondered if I had ADD, my mom has even questioned if I had ADD. So I thought it would be funny to find out what this test had to say.

Serious ADHD Likely!
Maybe I didn't really want to know........

The Benefits of Work

As many of you may know I am not particularly thrilled with my job, but even with all the drawbacks it does have a few benefits. One of which is learning fascinating yet completely useless information.
As part of my job I search the internet for new news on rare books and the auction world. Sometimes my research brings up very fascinating information that is completely irrelevant to the topic I am searching. Finding cool information (like this) is definitely one of the highlights of my day.

Swearing & Cursing - What it means to cuss

Living in New York I think I have heard more swearing than I ever heard before in my entire life. Words generally associated with immature hoodlums, vagrents, and sailors are used in daily speech by educated, and otherwise refined men and women. Rather than becoming numb and immune to the harsh language I have become increasingly sensitive. Words I used to find just offensive now cut me to the core. Especially the taking of the Lord's name in vain. This change in me has caused me to ponder and wonder at the nature of these words and what they really mean.

I always wondered what taking the Lords name in vain meant. What did it mean to take something in vain? It didn't make sense to me that to take something in vain meant to use it as a swear word. A few years ago I was listening to Dr. Laura and she made a comment that really resonated with me. She said in essence, that that taking the Lord's name in vain was not using his name as a swearword, but rather not living up to the covenant you make to take his name upon you, to stand as a representative of him at all times, in all things, and all places. This was the truest answer I had ever heard. But then it made me think, how did using the Lord's name as an exclaimation, a curse, come to be accepted as the meaning of taking the Lords name in vain?

Sitting in my office, hearing the Lord's name exclaimed several time a minute, I came to realize why hearing His name used so flippantly, so negatively, hurt me so much. That single word, that precious name, is simplest form of prayer. When we use his name so flippantly we are disregarding, discrediting, and disrespecting one of the most precious gifts given to us as human beings, as children of God.

Somebody put Crack in my Coke!

My mind has been racing at a million miles an hour today. Which is good because I am suddenly full of good ideas for EVERYTHING! But it is almost moving too fast for my own good. I am a little bundle of energy and I don't what to attribute it to. I've been like this since I woke up this morning - Courtnie can attest (just ask her what I was like running The Bridge this morning). I feel like Twitchy from Hoodwinked. I swear someone must have slipped crack into my Diet Coke!

Sara Talks-o-lot

I don't know why but I have this overwhelming desire to share every little thing that comes into my head. It can be the most random, most mundane thing but I want to tell someone - I want to share. It is to the point of ridiculousness. For the past three weeks all I have done at work is look at address lists....all day long.....for THREE weeks! Nothing can get more boring than an address list of 100,000 names - but somehow I find something interesting and immediately I want to tell someone - anyone! "Oh look that person lives in San Marino...my mom lived in San Marino...I wonder if they have any connections....Oh! how funny! Look! Their store is Mostly Maps. Ha ha! 'We're only mostly maps' it's like "He's only mostly dead"....I wonder what else they sell....comic books? tennis shoes? :) etc. etc. etc" and I sit and wish for someone to tell all my random wonderings to.

I feel bad for my future husband. I appear relatively quiet at first but watch out! Sara-talks-o-lot

Ps. the other funny thing is everyone at work comments on how quiet I am. hee hee! Little do they know.
